Some boards exceed one meter in width, bearing powerful expressions in the form of knots and cracks—traces of the years spent enduring nature’s extremes. Through a rare convergence of circumstances, these exceptional materials find their way to Asahikawa Workshop IPPONGI, where they are reborn as KAI, a flagship piece that embodies both the vitality of the wood and refined design. Each table stands as a one-of-a-kind creation, where nature and craftsmanship merge into a singular presence. IPPONGI tabletops are available in four basic types. To honor these rare natural materials, we also make full use of timber sourced from smallerdiameter trees. Guided by the trained eyes of skilled craftsmen, each tabletop is composed by carefully selecting and combining boards into a harmonious and beautiful whole.
